- Can I choose the vehicle I drive?
Yep!
For any ‘adult’ Off-Road Driving Experience, you can choose from a pick-up truck, a Land Rover Defender or Land Rover Discovery, though we do operate a ‘first come, first served’ policy. Good job all our vehicles are top notch then!
For our ‘junior’ Off-Road Driving Experience, the vehicle we use is a Kubota RTV1140.
- Is it dangerous?
Off-roading is inherently more risky than driving on a carpet of tarmac, but rest assured, you’ll be in safe hands at all times.
All of our instructors undergo multiple levels of certificated training, and as a Centre we are accredited by the British Off-Road Driving Association.
Furthermore, the vehicles on our fleet are well maintained and are naturally extremely capable in an off-road environment.
You will never be placed in a dangerous situation, though it is of course vital that you listen to your instructor at all times to ensure your Experience is both safe and enjoyable.
- What should I wear?
We advise customers dress for the unpredictable Yorkshire weather conditions, so prioritise comfort and warmth.
Most importantly, ensure you wear sturdy footwear, such as walking boots.
- Do you close in bad weather?
We operate and remain open in all weather conditions.
However, a risk assessment is undertaken each morning and should there be any reason we deem conditions to be dangerous, we will call you at the earliest opportunity to rebook your Experience.
- Do I need a driving licence?
All guests wishing to drive our ‘full-size’ vehicles will be required to present a full, clean and valid UK driving licence.
Anyone who would like to simply be a passenger in the vehicle does not need to hold a driving licence, but they do need to be able to get in and out of the vehicle unaided and of an age able to hold themselves up with the use of a seatbelt.
Children are more than welcome to accompany parents on sessions, but we do advise a minimum age of 4 years old for passengers.
- What about the kids?
You are more than welcome to bring your children along for your Experience, however we only permit 2 passengers in the vehicle. Please be aware we do not permit the use of booster seats or car seats. This means your child must be over the age of 12 or 135 centimeters.
The age limit for our Junior Drive Experience is 10yrs and above and we recommend they be 140 centimeters so they can reach the controls comfortably.
- Will I have to share the vehicle with people I don't know?
That would be weird, wouldn’t it?
We’d never put you in a vehicle with a party separate to your own, so rest assured you’ll be able to enjoy the Experience with the people you know and trust.
